There is an option within Outlook. When you choose “new message” or “reply” there is an “Option” button at the top of the email. Here you can put a tick in the box for Read and Delivery Receipt. You get an email back to say when it got there, and when it was read, BUT

    (1) Some systems at the other end might not allow this to happen
    (2) Some people, like me, turn off the facility

You cannot rely on it. Some email will fail, may go into spam folders, or there may be an issue at the client site etc etc. The only true way is to follow up your quotes with a phone call, or a make sure you get a response from the customer.
