A client told me recently that they sometimes open the images on the random emails that they receive, to check them….not the best idea.

Why Images in Emails Can Be Risky
Tracking Pixels (Most Common Risk)
Many phishing emails contain invisible 1×1 pixel images.
When you:
Open the email (with images enabled), or
Download the image manually
\u2026it can notify the sender that:
Your email address is active
You opened the message
Your IP address
Your device type
This can move you to a \u201chigh-value target\u201d list.
This is the biggest practical risk.

If you have 365, submit it to defender. Otherwise just dump it into junk.<\/p>\n
