    3. Login direct to the service in question \u2013 often that is how the likes of \u201cAmazon\/Ebay for example\u201d will let you know of any issues<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      1. Crypto virus\u2019s\n
          \n
        1. Caught by clicking on hacker\u2019s website links or from an email\/spam<\/li>\n
        2. They encrypt vital files or the whole PC<\/li>\n
        3. NEVER pay the ransom \u2013 they want your credit card details<\/li>\n
        4. Backup to cloud and\/or hard drive<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          1. Ebay \u2013 Selling\n
              \n
            1. Never just ship goods to an address \u201csent by Ebay email\u201d often these can be counterfeit<\/li>\n
            2. Login to PayPal \u2013 confirm payment and ship goods to the address listed by the client account.<\/li>\n
            3. Never ship without payment first arriving<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              1. Malware\n
                  \n
                1. Sinister malware may well allow a hacker to see what you are typing or remote control to your unattended PC<\/li>\n
                2. Some will divert your searches to their websites<\/li>\n
                3. Most malware tracks what you do, slows down your PC and causes pop ups<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                  1. Fighting Scams\/Cons\/Spam\n

                    1. Backup all data often, both to drive and cloud<\/li>\n
                    2. Buy a decent security package for all your hardware, make sure it updates and keep it renewed.<\/li>\n
                    3. Keep all your software up-to-date, apply all the Microsoft and Apple updates<\/li>\n
                    4. Sign up to a spam killing service<\/li>\n
                    5. Computer usage policy for work<\/li>\n
                    6. Website blocking (free for home use)<\/li>\n
                    7. Strong passwords, different ones for each service<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
